What is a Hunter?
Out of all the classes in World of Warcraft, the Hunter is by far the most adaptable. The pet options, there sheer prowess and talent builds leave no room options for blunder in this class. Lets Begin
One of the main keys to success in this class, is making sure that your character is right for the job. You will need to be aware of your own personal strengths in order to be a good match with the hunters skills. Although the name tends to conjure up pictures of tracking down and shooting animals, the hunter class is much more than that. Playing this can be a bit tricky as the hunter has specific  strengths and weaknesses.

Ranged warfare are where the hunters abilities lie, including using bows, guns and crossbow. They are incredibly effective at extinguishing their enemies with these means. Other abilities the hunter has are used in tracking and survival. Much of the damage taken from an attack can be absorbed by a pet in this class, giving more time for play. Now that you know what a hunter can and cannot do, you can begin to craft your strategy for dealing with enemies. Victory can be achieved by remaining far from danger. The use of a pet by a hunter means that the pet takes the impact of melee fighting . As the hunter stands back and causes damage, the pet can get in close.

Choosing a job for your hunter
A profession needs to be chosen that blends well with the hunters abilities, now that you have chosen to play this class. Your best bet is going to be the combination of skinning and leatherworking since this will allow  you to make your own armor. However, another great combination is mining and skinning since this will allow you to make enough money to quickly purchase additional armor and weapons. The professions that really don’t mesh well with a hunter are alchemy, tailoring or enchanting.

While they are very useful for other classes, there just isn’t much that will benefit a hunter from these professions. Herbalism on the other hand can be used for making potions to enable healing and quite a good profession in this respect. This is very helpful until you can get a pet to assist  you with melee fighting.

The Weapons
Previously mentioned was the fact that the hunters skills are in ranged warfare. You’re going to want to concentrate on bows and crossbows, or if you have the skill, guns as well. The first bow you get is basic, however as you progress from level to level you develop you skills and are able to upgrade as you become more on target.
