Avoid Paying For Costly Gadget Repair Bills

Technology within the last decade has grown increasingly to become amazing. With new recent breakthroughs in the form of the new iPhone being able to recognise voice recognition to the new announcement that Microsofts Project Natal for the Xbox 360 is set to have full body motion sensing capabilities with no wires and nothing plugged into you in any way at all.

However what happens when something goes wrong with it? In some cases, the costs to repair the gadgets can be more than you initially paid for them. A large number of cases is never down to the user, normally it’s because the product wasn’t made correctly to begin with. Despite the Xbox 360 being the best console to have in this current console generation, it’s been found to have had one major flaw. The three red rings. Any Xbox 360 owner will know that once you have the three red rings, you might aswell just hand over your bank details to Microsoft. Unless you are still within your warranty you are looking at paying at least 50 to have to send it off to be repaired for a problem that should not have been there in the first place.

This never used to happen with older consoles like the N64 or the Playstation 1, however, now the problem is becoming more widespread. We are seeing more and more Playstation 3’s and Nintendo Wii’s being sent off, as well as the normal flow of Xbox’s. The reason for the rise in repairs could be down to the large amount of games that are being released recently so more people are playing their consoles, or it could simply be that the manufacturers are just churning out the consoles to make money and not fix problems.

There is now a solution to this that helps you save money, gadget insurance. This can be purchased to cover up to five of any gadgets you can think of for just under 20 a month. Although the price does seem high, it’s alot less than if you had to repair just one of your gadgets each month. The primary reason is because the cost to repair gadgets, if you dropped your iPhone, you would get given a 100 pound repair bill. So if you look at it from that perspective 20 a month for insuring five gadgets is a better deal than having to pay 100 for something that you could drop again and again. Also, when it comes to repairing gaming consoles such as the Nintendo Wii, they can charge you up to 180 pounds for the repair, making it cheaper to buy a new console.

Of course if it is just the one product you want to insure, even if it’s not a gaming console, you can simply pay for iPod insurance by itself. Unfortunately, the majority of home emergency insurance policies don’t cover your gadgets like iPods and gaming consoles.
