Choosing a Telescope for Beginning Astronomers
Before buying a telescope for a beginning astronomer, you may want to consider first the several factors that go with the worth and quality of a telescope. Remember, you always get what you pay for.
A good telescope doesn’t talk about its power since lower power provides a better sight experience while most high-powered telescopes makes an object look larger thus producing a fainter image. The true key that holds the power of the telescope is the aperture size. A 4” wide aperture will do for a deep-space viewing. Also, take note that having a telescope with higher focal ratio doesn’t always mean it offers a superior quality image. Furthermore, a good mount or stand is also essential so as to hold the scope steady when viewing a distant object.
