Google Changes Its Image Search Option
Google is always upto something. This time its changing its image search features. Now the Google image search feature is going to be different and more fun to find images. Google is modifying its image search by Image ‘Swirl’. During a random Google search, I landed upon this blog post that had information about Google’s addition to its Image search feature.
What is Image Swirl? Well, ‘Swirl’ is a combination of similar image search application and Google’s Wagon wheel. With Swirl added to the current Google Image search feature, searching for your desired image will become an easier process.
How? Okay, When you type a word or a phrase in the search box, the search result will be cluster of images in a 4 X 3 matrix form. Each of these 12 images will have many similar images grouped under them. Once you click on the image a Wonder Wheel opens with more refined search result. The Wonder Wheel comprises of scaled down version (in terms of resolution) of that particular image. So if you want a picture of specific resolution, click on the picture and you can see the resolution.
For example, if you are searching for ‘Computer’, you will be shown different pictures with each set having 12 similar images in it. You may click on the required pictures to get an image of different resolutions.

What Does Google Swirl Lack?
Currently Image Swirl supports 200,000 search items, but with release of Swirl,Goggle is planning to add more search items and make it an effective Image search feature. Goggle Image Swirl is good and also makes search a less time consuming process. However, it lacks decision support feature that Bing has.
With decision support system added, Goggle’s new tweaked application will be much more fun to use.
